About

Fingers-crossed, I'll be moving to San Francisco soon. I really love Singapore though, and have spent 10 years of my life here.

Before I got my current job, I co-founded Knoyo Health, a company building custom enterprise AI software for healthcare. We received an $80,000 research grant with professors at NUS, with clinical collaborators from Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Prior to Knoyo Health, I had a lot of fun building a book reading app called BookSlice. It was my most successful indie app, and grew to 500+ users in a week.

Over the years, I've also built Malaysia's #1 website for Pengajian Am, which ranks first on Google with 24.9k monthly visitors; a travel visa app that was featured on Mint, India's #2 business daily with 42 million monthly readers; and open source Dart libraries that see 1,500 weekly downloads.

My interest in products started in 2020 - 2023, where I worked my first job as a Product Manager at a smart lock startup called igloohome. I had the incredible opportunity to work on the consumer roadmap, and support a 30+ person engineering and design team. We launched 15 new software and hardware products and grew revenue by more than $1M. I also co-invented a feature that earned us a patent.

Before my first job, I studied mechanical engineering at NUS and liberal arts at USP. I'm grateful that the university let me explore a wide range of subjects. I remember one time I took too many classes and had to write a letter asking for an exemption to try more subjects! While at NUS I took a class on meta-ethics, dissected a brain, implemented a quantum sorting algorithm, read Hegel and other philosophers, and studied a bit of political science and linguistics.

Prior to moving to Singapore, I grew up in a city in Sarawak called Kuching. It is a beautiful city with a rich history (and great food). I had a lucky break where I was the top scorer in the national chemistry olympiad, ranked 95th in the national math olympiad, played chess competitively at the state level, and played violin for two ex prime ministers! Most of the academic stuff happened pretty late (I was a late bloomer). I spent way too much time playing video games, so by the time I found out about these competitions I was also too old for the age cutoff for IChO 😭.
